The questions and answers below should provide the information you need to create a successful survey. If you have a question that is not answered here, please email it to us.

How much does it COST to make and use a survey on OpinionPower.com?
Nothing. All surveys are free and you can collect as much data as you like.

HOW MANY SURVEYS can I make?
You can make as many surveys as you need.

HOW MANY RESPONSES to a survey can I have?
Responses are unlimited.

Why is a survey only active for 30 DAYS?
Most data is collected in the first few days of a survey. Originally we wanted to leave surveys up until they were inactive for four months. Because the site was so popular, we had to clear out old surveys sooner to make room for new ones. Now, surveys are automatically deleted after 30 days. Make sure you retrieve your data before the survey is deleted.

HOW MANY QUESTIONS can I have in a single survey?
We allow up to 10 questions per survey.

Can I EDIT a published survey?
No. For security reasons we do not allow you to edit a published survey. You can create a new survey to replace the old one.

Can I DELETE a published survey?
No. The system automatically deletes a survey after 30 days. If you do not want to use a survey, remove the survey's URL from your site or if necessary tell people to stop using it.

How do I see the RESULTS PAGE for my survey?
After creating a survey, you are sent an e-mail message with the URLs for the survey page, graphed results, and text results.

What happens to the DATA collected in my survey?
Nothing. We will not even look at your data. When the survey is automatically deleted so is the data.

Do I have to put my survey on MY SITE?
No. You only need to get the survey's URL to your audience. All the rest is handled by OpinionPower.com.

Can I put my survey on MY SITE?
Yes. The confirmation e-mail that you are sent contains HTML code that you can put on your own site. This code will allow you to display the survey on your site. All data is still collected on OpinionPower.com.

Can I tell how EACH PERSON answered the questions in my survey?
To do this, all questions need to be text fields. The text results page will show every persons answer to each question. The downside to this approach is that all answers can be different.

Why has my quick poll only counted ONE VOTE?
All Quick Polls are set to accept only one vote per computer. If you wish to have many people vote from one computer you need to create an advanced survey and turn off the voting restriction. Note that doing this will allow one person to vote many times.

Why doesn't the GRAPHED RESULTS page contain all the results from my survey?
Only quantitative data is display on the graphed results page and only text results are displayed on the text results page. Quantitative data is only stored as totals.

Are your advertisements always APPROPRIATE for children?
We are now using Google ads because Microsoft Link Exchange seems to have closed its doors. The Google ads we use are text ads and are usually based on the content of the survey. Please let us know if you feel any ads are inappropriate for children. This note was updated July 2, 2007.

Is there a way to NOT SHOW advertisements on surveys?
No. This is a free service. The fees received from ads will be used to place ads about OpinionPower.com on others site so more people can find out about and use this free service.
