   Question Types
There are nine different types of questions that you can use in your custom survey. Examples of each are listed below. Read the survey specifications page for details about field length and other survey elements.

The names of the different types of questions are based on the answers. Question types 1, 2, and 3 are quantitative. This means that we can show you and your audience a graph of the result to those types of questions. The remaining 6 types are data gathering questions. All information from your survey, whether quantitative or data gathering, will be emailed to you.


Either Or
1.  Each question has two parts. The question and the answers. This question has a true-false, either-or, agree-disagree response. You determine the question and the answers. The results from this type of question can be viewed in a graph.




Several Selections
2.  This type of question will allow your audience to select as many appropriate answers from up to 10 possible items. This type of question would be used when there were a number of items that your audience needs to, such as their hobbies. The results from this type of question can be viewed in a graph.

User Selection One
User Selection Two - maximum of 100 characters per selection

One of Ten
3.  The user will be able to select only one of up to ten items. This question is useful when asking for a response within a range, such as best to worst. The results from this type of question can be viewed in a graph.




Text Entry 500
4.  Using this question you can ask your audience to give a short text response. The size of this field will be 45 characters wide but your audience will be able to enter a maximum of 500 characters. The text will automatically scroll as they enter more than 45 characters. For comparison, there are 333 characters in this paragraph.




Text Entry 1,000
5.  This question will allow your audience to enter up to 1,000 characters of text. This is useful when you are want to read complex opinions. You will need to explain to your audience that they it is possible to enter more than 1,000 characters but only 1,000 characters will be saved. If your audience needs to say more, you could give them an email address.




Name & Email Address
6.  This question will allow you to ask your audience for personal information such as name and email address. The labels can be changed to accommodate other languages.

7.  This question will allow you to ask your audience for personal information such as telephone numbers. The labels can be changed to accommodate other languages or other phone categories. By changing the labels, this question will give you four input fields that can be used for other purposes.

Location - USA
8.  This question will allow you to ask your audience for personal information such as their physical location. This version of the question is designed for use in the USA. The state information is fixed in a selection list. The postal abbreviation for the states will be sent to you. The labels can be changed to accommodate other languages.

9.  This question will allow you to ask your audience for personal information such as their physical location. The labels can be changed to accommodate other languages. By changing the labels, this question will give you five input fields that can be used for other purposes.
